The station is the interchange point with the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway services to Eskdale. For train times on that railway telephone 01229 717171

Level or easy ramped access to both north and southbound platforms. Northbound wheelchair users should use the village car park from where there is access to the platform across the patio of Ratty Arms. The station approach drive is a rough surface and use by wheelchairs is not advised. Southbound wheelchair users use access from the car park of the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Both platforms have been raised so as to give easy access to the trains for wheelchair users.

There are no telephone boxes on the station. However there is a telephone connection to Sellafield Signal Box on the southbound platform. This will be found in the small box attached to the gate post of the footpath access. The only information available concerns late running of overdue trains. For other information the nearest phone boxes are; Northbound in Ratty Arms or across the village car park(150 yds) Southbound on platform 1 of the R&ER station.

There are passenger shelters on both platforms. Also a cycle shelter on the southbound platform.

Access between platforms can only be made either by leaving the platform and returning to the highway, crossing under the bridge and then regaining the alternative platform. Alternatively there is a footbridge at the south end of the station accessed from the northbound platform by a gate and the southbound platform by crossing the R&ER car park. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

Timetables for the direction of travel only of trains departing from that platform are displayed on each platform.

Cars can be parked on the northbound side on the approach drive or in the village car park. On the southbound side they may be parked on the R&ER car park. If staying more than one night please notify the R&ER Booking Office when leaving the car so it will not be treated as an abandoned stolen car.

Toilets are available 24 hrs a day at the entrance to the village car park on the north bound side of the station and during operational hours on Platform 1 of the R&ER.

Within easy walking distance of the station in Ravenglass village are Rosegarth and Holly House private hotels; Ratty Arms Public House and restaurant. Muncaster Castle entrance is a mile away.
