Green Road

  • Both platforms reached by short steep ramp. Telephone on southbound platform
  • Shelter on northbound platforms, but no seat. The seat is outside.
  • Station building canopy on southbound, with a seat. Timetable on both platforms
  • Covered cycle shelter for many bikes
  • Good-sized but roughly surfaced car park
  • Access to the station is via the A5093, from the cross-roads at The Green.
  • The access road has a gate-less barrier, and this is the only means of access to the northbound platform. Therefore allow time to cross the track before catching a northbound train.
  • There are no shops or local facilities, but a short walk down to the Duddon Estuary, with salt marshes, and a footpath along the tidal embankment.

Millom

  • Level or easy access to the southbound platform. The northbound platform also has a level access from the larger of the two supermarket car parks, as well as access via steps from the road bridge.
  • There is no telephone on either platform, but over the road on the north side, next to the police station, is a public call box.
  • There are shelters on both platforms, and lots of seats, both covered and otherwise.
  • There is a footbridge between the platforms.
  • There are timetables on both platforms, plus a notice board outside for each rail direction.
  • The station building on the north side contains the Millom Folk Museum, plus the Tourist Information, and a small restaurant.
  • There is a small car park next to the station building.
  • There is a public toilet over the road bridge, in the small car park next to the supermarket entrance.
  • The station is immediately adjacent to the centre town: shops, banks and other facilities are only a very short walk away.
